The N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources on behalf of the Environmental Management Commission (EMC) will conduct a public hearing in order to receive public comments on the proposed reclassification of the North Fork New River watershed in Ashe and Watauga Counties (New River Basin) to the Outstanding Resource Waters (ORW) designation.

Help support this proposed action to protect many cold water streams in NW NC.  Comments must be received by March 16, 2010.
