Fishing Report: Cherokee is fishin' well!

Title

Cherokee is fishin' well!

Fishing Report

Cherokee may be a little distant to call 'local' waters but, it's with 3 hours for most of us.  If you want to catch some really big trout it's worth the drive. My Son and I fished the trophy section on Raven's Fork saturday both of us caught new personal record fish.  My Son landed a 23" Rainbow for his best ever and late in the afternnon I landed a 26"er (photo attached). They increased the annual fee for fishing the trophy section from $20 to $75 in December 2010 and added a 3-day permit at $25 for those who don't get here very often but, it's still a bargain compared to the fees on some private waters. (There is also the $7 daily fee in addition to the annual trophy section permit).

River

Raven's Fork

Date Fished

1/29/2011

What they were hitting on

Best pattern was a Rainbow Warrior.  Also caught fish on a black/white girddle bug, egg, blue Pickpocket.
