Fishing Report: Deep holes

Title

Deep holes

Fishing Report

Fished the Smith River in Virginia last Saturday.  I didn't see another soul on the river all day.  Parked at the Pizza shop and fished around the furniture factory to the Rt 666 bridge at the tail end of the special regulation area.  There's one really deep hole just upstream from the pizza shop where the river makes a left turn (right turn if you're facing upstream).  Nymphing on the bottom there was productive.  Caught 10 in that hole in the 10-14" range. Had a couple more on a dry caddis pattern.

Date Fished

What they were hitting on

Moorish's blue pickpocket was the ticket fished as a dropper behind a weighted bugger to get it on the bottom.  The caddis pattern I used was an olive foam caddis.
