: "Stimulating" day on the Mitchell
Title
"Stimulating" day on the Mitchell
Fishing Report
Wanted to try my new Cabela's L-Tech rod that replaces the LSTs I broke in Cherokee 2 weeks ago so I headed over to the Mitchell River today. There were a number of guys fishing the lower part of the river so I went to the upper end and parked by the gate. With only 1 pickup parked there I figured it wouldn't be too crowded. The morning started off good with the first fish an 18" Brown on an egg pattern. Continued to pick up fish by nymphing but early in the afternoon after a few fish hit my strike indicator I thought I'd switch to dries for awhile. The afternoon became "simulator"ing. I fished dries the rest of the day until about 6 PM when the skies we preparing to open up. Ended up with 22 on the day including another 18"er (Rainbow).
