BRTU is participating in the 2009 Jakes Day this Saturday, August 1, 2009 and we are looking for to help introduce kids to fly casting and fly fishing.  The event  will be at The Smith Farm located at 6919 Linwood Southmont Road.  Registration begins at 8:30 am and event kicks off at 9:00 am

A hotdog Lunch will be served around 1:30 pm and door prizes will be given away after lunch.

Jakes Day is held annually by the Davidson County Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.  This event introduces many kids to outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting, our chapter regularly participates by operating a station where kids are introduced to fly fishing. We see a lot of kids (220 last year) and volunteers always have a good time.
